• How Is Our Solar Pay-Per-Lead Model Different Than Other Solar PPLs?
1. No Prepayment or Retainers
How many people do you know who have been ripped off by paying for leads they never got? Or they instantly become a low priority once they prepay. Most PPL lead agencies require money upfront. LeadsForSolar does not. This is a “Pay for Performance” model, and we like to perform. So why should the solar company bear the risk? We don’t charge any fees - no setup fees, monthly retainers, or prepayment for leads. With
our Solar Pay-Per-Lead Model, you pay for the qualified solar leads as you get them.
2. Phone Verified Solar Leads
Many PPL Agencies will send anything that looks like a lead. They run the ads and sell what comes out on the other side. No wonder why the average industry Lead-to-Appointment (LTA) rate is at 20% - 30%. We verify our solar leads using a text conversation before we send them to you. We only send the leads who answer us. If they don't reply, we throw them away. Your reps shouldn’t have to wade through a ton of garbage leads to get an appointment with a homeowner.
• How Do I Sign Up to Get Qualified Solar Leads?
Simple. Go to
LeadsForSolar.com/sign-up-for-leads and complete the form. We ask you for your basic info, including your target geography and what specials you run (the hook). We need this info to create a unique campaign for your solar company. All the qualified solar leads we produce from this campaign are exclusively for you (not shared).
• How Are These Solar Leads Generated and Verified?
We run ad campaigns that target homeowners in your target geography. Once a homeowner completes our solar lead form, we engage them in an SMS text conversation. We start by asking if their phone number is correct - and we close out by telling them to expect a call from a consultant in just a few minutes. Simultaneously, we forward the qualified lead information to you. They will be waiting for your call, so calling within 5 minutes of getting the lead is essential.
• Are The Leads Exclusive to My Solar Company?
Yes, all solar leads delivered are exclusive, meaning we never show your leads to anyone else. But, of course, if the homeowner is seriously looking to buy solar, we can’t stop them from contacting other companies outside of our process. But we never “share” qualified solar leads.
• How Do I Tell You My Territory for Getting Qualified Solar Leads?
Tell us your target geographical area or solar territory using cities, a radius around those cities, "35 miles around Springfield", and if necessary, a list of cities to avoid. You can even tell us to target a whole state or multiple states.
• How And When Do I Pay? What Are the Payment Options?
Our Pay-per-Lead verified solar leads are billed at an agreed-upon price after they are delivered to you. We do not require any upfront payments of any kind. The agreed cost of delivered leads will be invoiced on the day they are delivered. So, for example, if you get four qualified solar leads on a particular day, you will receive an invoice for the cost of those four leads at the end of the day. These invoices must be paid automatically through online ACH bank transfers.
You do have an option to partially prepay for 50% of the cost of your solar leads. This prepay is an option because, with it, we can accelerate the growth in the daily flow of leads by increasing adspend at the beginning. If you choose to prepay, we will bill you for the remaining half of the lead price on the day of lead delivery.
• Where Do These Solar Leads Come From?
We run various social media solar ad campaigns, including Facebook, Google, and other online venues, as well as our on solar informational platforms. When a homeowner responds to one of our ads, they are sent to a solar lead form. There they answer several questions such as their home type, the reason for wanting solar, email, phone number, etc.
When they submit the qualifying form, our system automatically sends them a verification text using the number they supplied. That way, we engage them in an SMS text conversation. If they respond positively, they become a verified lead, and we immediately send their info to you for a call. So it’s essential to make that call in the first 5 minutes.
• Why Do We Claim There Is A 50% Lead-To-Appointment for Your Solar Leads?
While developing this Elite Solar Lead gen system, we tested it with a large Texas solar company. We ran hundreds of verified solar leads over two months, testing and tweaking the program as we went along. These qualified solar leads created during that test converted at a greater than 50% rate. More than half of them became appointments. But, of course, we don’t guarantee any conversion rate because so many factors are out of our control.
• Why Do You Ask Me for A Special Solar Promotion for The Homeowner?
Ad campaigns produce more responses when you “sweeten the deal” with an exclusive offer. These are called “hooks” and are very common in solar. You should know that this is one area where ad fatigue quickly becomes a problem. Last year’s hook won’t produce nearly as well as when it was new. Unique solar panel or backup battery offers seem to have about a one-year lifetime in solar marketing before they need to change.
• When & How Soon After I Sign Up Will the Delivery of Solar Leads Start?
Typically, you will start seeing verified solar leads in about 2-3 weeks. First, we create the ad campaigns, which takes 1-2 weeks. Then we submit them for approval (the social media company must approve all ads). That approval can take 3-7 days. If the ads are rejected, we tweak them and resubmit. Once the campaign starts running, homeowner solar leads could come in anytime. Lead flow is slow at the beginning of the campaign. Then as the AI learns and develops, the rate increases.
Facebook has a finite inventory of ad spaces and runs a constant auction for them. Different times of the year are busier for Facebook (e.g., pre-Christmas, the run-up to national elections, etc.). During these times, we experience slower reviews and fewer ad placements.
• Can I Pause the Solar Leads on Weekends or At Night?
We do not pause these solar campaigns because when we do, it disrupts the AI learning, and
AI experience associated with the campaign can be wiped losing valuable information. As a result, less than 10% of our qualified solar leads arrive after midnight. It is common practice to wait until the following day before calling for after-midnight leads.
• What If I Need to Pause My Campaign?
Pausing a social media ad campaign should be avoided as the platform’s AI will need to be retrained, which takes time and is costly. Additionally, if a pause is unavoidable, a pause of 4 or more days will require a remaking of your custom solar ad campaign, and there is a fee for that.

• What If I Need to Cancel My Campaign?
Our initial investment in creating a campaign is significant. We do not charge anything upfront in anticipation of selling you high-quality verified solar leads. If canceling a campaign is unavoidable, there is a cancellation fee. All clients must inform us of intentions to pause or stop incoming lead delivery by submitting the

• Are These Homeowner Solar Leads Checked Against the DNC List?
We do not check these solar leads against the Federal Do-Not-Call list because we ask the homeowner for permission to call on the solar qualifying lead form and in the SMS verification check. However, feel free to run these against the DNC list before calling them.
• How Many Qualified Solar Leads Per Day Will I Get? Can I Pay More for Faster Growth?
For most new solar lead generation campaigns, 1 to 4 leads per day is normal (both qualified and unqualified solar leads). Once the AI learns the program, we can increase the adspend, increasing the daily flow of incoming solar leads. Since we use the revenue from the leads, we bill you for, the growth is gradual. If you want a faster ramp-up period, you can prepay for half of your leads, allowing us to increase adspend quickly.
• What Are Considered Bad or Returnable Solar Leads?
We refund or replace qualified solar leads out of your designated geographic area, homes that are not on a permanent foundation, duplicate leads we had previously sent, and spam or “Mickey Mouse” leads that are obviously fake. To request a replacement, use our
LeadsForSolar - Lead Credit Request Form Here.
All lead replacement requests must be made the same day the lead was delivered in order to be eligible for replacement using this Lead Credit Request Form.
• What If My Calls Go to Voicemail?
These qualified solar leads are delivered as soon as they respond to the SMS. So, our final text to these homeowners is that they should expect a call shortly. The only situation where we have seen the direct-to-VM phenomenon instead of a person answering was when the verified lead was not called immediately.
Going from a 5-minute to a 10-minute delay in calling a lead causes the
answer rate to drop to 1/4 - a 75% drop off. After 1 hour, the success rate is the same as a cold call.
• What Are The Set Up Fees?
With our Solar Leads Pay-Per-Lead Program. There are no upfront costs, setup fees, or long-term contracts. You pay for the qualified solar leads as you get them from LeadsForSolar.
• Are Solar Leads Worth It?
Compared to door-knocking, buying leads is a cost-effective way to reach homeowners who are interested in solar. Most leads are generated through ads on social media. People who click on a solar ad are usually interested in solar panels or renewable energy solutions.
By purchasing verified solar leads from a reputable provider, you can
skip the garbage solar leads most social media ads produce and target these potential customers who are more likely to convert into paying customers.
One of the main advantages of buying solar leads is that they provide a targeted audience that has already shown an interest in solar panels. This means that you can bypass the initial lead generation process and focus your efforts on converting leads into paying customers.
• Can You Generate Your Own Solar Leads?
You can but for most solar companies, generating solar leads is far outside their core competency. Lead generation is a rapidly changing business with ad venues such as Facebook, YouTube, and Google Ad Network constantly changing their rules. Breaking those rules can get your account canceled. Most solar companies who try to bring lead generation in-house abandon the idea and purchase outside leads.
Another advantage of buying solar leads is that it can provide a predictable ROI compared to in-house lead generation practices. When you purchase verified solar leads, you can be confident that you are targeting homeowners who are more likely to convert into paying customers. This leads to a more predictable and higher ROI for your solar panel company.
There are thousands of lead generation agencies. And they cover a wide span of experience and lead quality. Best practices for buying solar leads include working with a reputable lead generation company that provides verified leads. Verified leads are best because the lead generator has already checked with the homeowner to verify that they are interested in talking to a solar consultant.
• What Is A Verified Solar Lead?
Most lead gen agencies do not verify their leads. A verified solar lead is one where the homeowner has been contacted after they provide their information on the lead form. This process verifies the phone number and also confirms that the homeowner is the one that initiated the process by filling out the solar lead form.
Buying solar leads is a strong business practice for solar panel companies looking to grow and add more reps. They provide a targeted audience that has already shown an interest in solar panels, saving time and resources, and providing a more predictable ROI compared to in-house lead generation practices.
To get the most out of your investment, working with a reputable solar lead generation company that provides verified leads is important and keeps up with the latest lead generation practices and venues.
• What Are The Four Types Of Solar Leads?
• Aged Solar Leads:
These are solar leads that were generated a while ago, sometimes up to a year or more. And usually, they have been contacted many times from all types of companies. These leads may or may not have been interested in solar panels. While aged leads can be less expensive – sometimes as low as $1 per lead - they are also less likely to convert into paying customers.
• Shared Solar Leads:
These are solar leads that have been sold to multiple solar panel companies. Shared leads can be less expensive than exclusive leads, but they can also be less effective since the homeowner may have been contacted by multiple solar companies. Responding to these leads quickly is important as several of your competitors got the lead simultaneously. Often, it boils down to “first come, first serve.”
• Non-verified Solar Leads:
These are the most common type of solar lead and often result in a 20% lead-to-appointment rate. The lead generator has not checked or confirmed these leads to ensure that the phone number is correct, or that the homeowner is interested in talking to a solar consultant. Non-verified leads are less expensive than verified leads, but their lower quality results in a much lower conversion rate. These lower conversion rates cause higher cost per customer acquisition than verified leads. Cheaper is not cheaper in this case.
• Verified Solar Leads:
These are leads that have been confirmed by the lead generator to ensure that the homeowner is interested in talking to a solar consultant. Verified solar leads are the best type of solar leads since they are more likely to convert into paying customers. While they may be more expensive than other types of leads, they can provide a higher ROI and save time and resources that would otherwise be spent on in-house lead generation practices.
When considering purchasing solar leads, it's essential to understand the different types of leads available and their potential benefits and drawbacks. While aged leads and shared leads can be less expensive, their lower effectiveness usually causes them to be a more expensive way to get new customers. Verified solar leads are the best option since they are more likely to convert into paying customers.
